STAY THIRSTY.

My aunt is a big fan of Huell Howser's show California's Gold. She caught an episode that featured Galco market in Highland Park. My family is huge consumer of Coca Cola, so a market full of soda definitely sparked her interest.

This place is like your mom and pop, o.g. version of Bev Mo. Galco stocks your favorite commercial beverages in glass bottles, and made with their original recipes. Which means made with sugar cane as opposed to the modern day high-fructose corn syrup.

They carry a large selection of beer as well. Beer in a jug? Or...

Root beer in a keg?

I myself am not a big soda or beer consumer. But Galco's is definitely a rare find these days. Worth a STOP.

These are photos from a year ago when Sokna and Andrew had a baby shower. The story is too good not to share. Friends, family, nieces and nephews were all in attendance. The usual baby shower games were played, but as night came, the games started to take a twist and the alcohol started to pour. Midnight would also mark, dad-to-be, Andrew's 24th birthday. The festivities lasted until 1 am, when the birthday boy hit his max, and it was time for all the guests to go home. And then it happened, at 1:30am when it was finally quiet, Sokna's water broke, 4 weeks early.

I think Aadyn just wanted to join in on the fun too.

EARTH, WIND AND FIRE-WORKS.

Last Saturday, about 20 of my family members went to the Hollywood Bowl to watch Earth, Wind and Fire. Going to a concert with this many people is not something my family does often. However we used this occasion to celebrate my cousin's birthday a few weeks early. When was she born? Well... the 21st night of September.

The fireworks came on during September. That was awesome. Everyone in the audience was dancing. It was a great summer scene.

Laker colors? ;)

MAYBE SO, MAYBE NO. MAYER, YES.

One day, my bf gave me an unlabeled cd and said, "Just listen. I think you might like it." I never heard any of the songs before, and I wasn't even sure I knew who Mayer Hawthorne was. "Is this old school music?" Before I knew it, the cd was on repeat and I memorized half the songs. You could say Mayer Hawthorne is the reason I finally went to Sunset Junction. And it was well worth it. One of the best concerts/ music performances I've been to. If you ever to get a chance to catch a live performance, do it. Its just feel good music.

And I thought it was really cool that he performed during sunset, at Sunset Junction. It was the perfect backdrop.

CANCUN: ISLA MUJERES

Isla Mujeres translates into Island of Women but my pictures look more like Isla Animales.
