My aunt told me she was going to send me something. I didn't think it would come in this big box, and to add to the surprise I totally forgot it was arriving. When I saw it, I got really excited. It is one the of coolest presents I have ever received. And I love ice cream, especially dippin dots.

THIS IS TRUE.
I do find beauty in ordinary things. And that is always why I try to carry a camera with me at all times. My life is beautiful.

TASTY TIPSY
The other night my family celebrated Patryze's 21st birthday at Taste on Melrose. Overall awesome time. I thought the service was really nice for a fairly large and loud group (with kids). I love family dinners, celebrations, get-togethers. They are my fave.

THATS WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR.
Yesterday was Nic's birthday. Unfortunately she didn't get off of work until past 10pm. Good thing I'm her bff and that Mozza is open til Midnight. Yummy pizza and yummy ice cream gelato and sorbeto. Happy Birthday Nicole!

IT'S NO SURPRISE...
...that Chelsea's tongue does not entirely fit in her mouth.
P.S. Today feels like Summer. Weather is such a tease.

COLORS OF THE WIND
I love colorful things. And I have a greater love for natural colors. This might be my favorite time of day, when the sun is setting. The color gradient is awesome and I can't observe and appreciate it enough.

TAKE ME BACK.
I always have this urge to travel. That is probably not surprising for a creative/photographer type. But really, I would like to just get on a plane and go somewhere I haven't been.
Here are some pictures from my past travel adventures in Boracay, Bangkok, and Paris.
I'm not sure when I'll be able to get away again, but I hope its soon! Where's my next destination?

PHOTO JOJO
I thought about having a post showing various portraits that I've taken. I came across this picture of my friend's boston terrier, Joey or Jojo. And its quite a portrait. He's so posed and stoic. He looks like he should be positioned next to royalty having his portrait painted.

Technically Nicole's birthday is still a week away. But we celebrated early. Good friends. Good times.

BILL-BORED?
There has been a lot of talk lately about billboards and signage in L.A. Recently a building owner was arrested for allowing a huge movie ad to cover almost 90% of the facade of his multi-story building. I don't know all the details besides that it was in Hollywood, right next door to where the Academy Awards will be held this Sunday, and that ad would have been in every red carpet shot. Boo hoo. That is not the first (nor last) ad covered building in L.A.
That incident has raised city officials to "crack" down on billboards, ads, and signage around in the city. But a few other, more noteworthy ads have caught the attention of angelenos. I know it caught mine. I seemed to notice a handful of random "commercial less" billboards around the city. I paid closer attention and realized it was a deliberate project by the Mak Center. They commissioned about 20 artists to create art instead of ads. Pretty interesting.
I hope to find more! http://howmanybillboards.org/

LIGHTS OUT.
This afternoon, I was returning from a meeting, feeling really excited and pumped for some upcoming creative projects. But, before I even stepped back into my studio, I discovered the power was partially out in our building. Inconvenient but not tragic.
This is the view outside my window. Make lemonade out of lemons.

MARCH MADNESS
It's March! March is that time of year I feel like everyone celebrates a birthday, including myself. I have tons of friends and family with March birthdays. This year I turn 25... eek! (Not until the end of the month though...) Its a scary thought but I'd like to counter that by celebrating all month long. In other words, when I go out to celebrate my fellow March babies' birthdays, I am going to pretend it's mine too! Yea thats fair. And this year my family is anticipating the newest addition to our clan, so that makes this March even more exciting. Can't wait!
