Yesterday was Nic's birthday. Unfortunately she didn't get off of work until past 10pm. Good thing I'm her bff and that Mozza is open til Midnight. Yummy pizza and yummy ice cream gelato and sorbeto. Happy Birthday Nicole!

COLORS OF THE WIND

I love colorful things. And I have a greater love for natural colors. This might be my favorite time of day, when the sun is setting. The color gradient is awesome and I can't observe and appreciate it enough.

TAKE ME BACK.

I always have this urge to travel. That is probably not surprising for a creative/photographer type. But really, I would like to just get on a plane and go somewhere I haven't been.

I thought about having a post showing various portraits that I've taken. I came across this picture of my friend's boston terrier, Joey or Jojo. And its quite a portrait. He's so posed and stoic. He looks like he should be positioned next to royalty having his portrait painted.

Technically Nicole's birthday is still a week away. But we celebrated early. Good friends. Good times.

PARKER HAYES

The newest addition to my family arrived today, a big healthy boy named Parker Hayes. Boy, can this baby cry. He is so adorable and I am so excited to have a new baby around. Its been awhile. Congrats to my cousin Vince and his wife Michelle.

BILL-BORED?

There has been a lot of talk lately about billboards and signage in L.A. Recently a building owner was arrested for allowing a huge movie ad to cover almost 90% of the facade of his multi-story building. I don't know all the details besides that it was in Hollywood, right next door to where the Academy Awards will be held this Sunday, and that ad would have been in every red carpet shot. Boo hoo. That is not the first (nor last) ad covered building in L.A.



That incident has raised city officials to "crack" down on billboards, ads, and signage around in the city. But a few other, more noteworthy ads have caught the attention of angelenos. I know it caught mine. I seemed to notice a handful of random "commercial less" billboards around the city. I paid closer attention and realized it was a deliberate project by the Mak Center. They commissioned about 20 artists to create art instead of ads. Pretty interesting.

LIGHTS OUT.

This afternoon, I was returning from a meeting, feeling really excited and pumped for some upcoming creative projects. But, before I even stepped back into my studio, I discovered the power was partially out in our building. Inconvenient but not tragic.
